Mr Shu Uemura was a Hollywood make-up artist in the 60's and 70's, working with such greats as Edward G. Robinson, Frank Sinatra and Lucille Ball. Forming Shu Uemura Cosmetics in 1983, Mr Uemura sold the brand to L'Oreal, Paris in 2004.
I was asked to design and build a microsite for the UK market, that would focus on hair design and styling techniques to promote the product range. A simple and highly interactive website that builds loyalty through inspiring, pragmatic and accessible information. The Shu Uemura brand design was created by L'Oreal, Paris, and we were supplied with a comprehensive brand guidelines that was referenced throughout the project.
Engaging with an audience already familiar with the brand, this website had to emphasis the unique proposition of the products, and inspire creativity through readily accessible information and advice.
This microsite provides the user with easy access to essential information on the product range, useful tips and advice on hair care and styling techniques, and much more.
Having designed the website, artworked all the assets, I then went though the proofing/approval stages with the client. Thereafter our Flash/AS3 developer was fully briefed, and the project managed through to delivery.
